The Arab African Center for Investment and Development (CAAID) inaugurated on Tuesday, November 4, the Algerian-Turkish Investment and Trade Forum and Exhibition in the Children’s Clothing Sector, held at the Sofitel Hotel in Algiers. The event was organized in partnership with the Turkish WCI Union and the Bursa Chamber of Commerce. It brings together over 90 leading Turkish companies specializing in children’s apparel, alongside a large number of Algerian importers and investors, with the aim of boosting trade exchange and industrial expertise between the two countries.
In his opening speech, Mr. Amin Boutalbi, President of CAAID, highlighted the importance of the children’s clothing industry as one of the most promising sectors in both the Algerian and African markets, due to its competitive potential and significant investment opportunities. He emphasized that this event serves as a platform to deepen economic relations between Algeria and Turkey—relations based on mutual partnership, technology transfer, and expertise sharing to serve the common interests of both nations.
Mr. Boutalbi further underlined that Algeria today stands as a strategic gateway to the African market, thanks to its geographic position and strong economic and political ties within the continent. This makes it a key player in the implementation of the African Union Agenda 2063, which aspires to build a prosperous and integrated Africa. He also noted that such forums play a vital role in enabling small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to access foreign markets, attract new investments, and support local manufacturing and job creation.
The second day of the Algerian-Turkish Investment and Trade Forum and Exhibition in the Children’s Clothing Sector witnessed high momentum, featuring B2B meetings between representatives of more than 90 Turkish companies and numerous Algerian businesses and importers. These sessions focused on exploring industrial and commercial partnership opportunities and exchanging expertise in design, production, and distribution — paving the way for localizing the children’s clothing and textile industry in Algeria.
The program also included specialized workshops discussing ways to develop value chains in the textile and clothing industry, possibilities for transferring Turkish technology to the Algerian market, and strengthening the capacity of SMEs to integrate into regional production networks. Participants unanimously agreed that this forum represents a strategic platform for advancing Algerian-Turkish cooperation toward sustainable production partnerships, capable of contributing to the diversification of the national economy and increasing trade exchanges between the two countries.
