Algeria Reaffirms Its Role as Africa’s Gateway at the Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum

Mr. Amin Boutalbi, President of the Arab African Center for Investment and Development (CAAID), participated in the Türkiye-Africa Business and Economic Forum (TABEF 2025) as part of a high-level Algerian delegation, alongside H.E. Boumediene Guennad, Ambassador of Algeria to Türkiye and the official representative of Algeria at the forum.

The event brought together the Deputy President of South Africa, more than 30 African ministers, as well as representatives from the African Union and the AU Department of Economic Development, Tourism, Mining and Investment, represented by Ms. Francisca Tatchouop Belobe.

🎯 Mr. Boutalbi chaired a key session titled “Logistics and Sustainable Development in Africa,” which explored strategies to enhance logistical connectivity among African nations, develop transportation and trade infrastructure, and accelerate continental integration in line with Agenda 2063.

🚢 In his address, Mr. Boutalbi emphasized the strategic role of Algerian ports in supporting intra-African trade. He highlighted Algeria’s ongoing efforts to establish major transport routes through Mauritania, Dakar, and Niger, as part of an integrated vision to link North, West, and Southern Africa.

🚆 He also underlined Algeria’s ambitious plans to connect the continent through a Pan-African railway network, facilitating the smooth flow of goods and services while strengthening Africa’s economic unity. These projects, he noted, reaffirm Algeria’s position as a strategic gateway to Africa and a reliable partner in advancing sustainable development and continental integration.

🤝 Mr. Boutalbi further noted the rapid growth in Algeria–Türkiye relations across economic, trade, and investment sectors, stressing that Algeria serves as Türkiye’s true gateway to Africa due to its strategic geographic position, political stability, and leadership in supporting Africa’s collective development initiatives.

📈 CAAID’s participation in TABEF 2025 reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening South–South cooperation, promoting joint investment between Africa and Türkiye, and supporting sustainable economic growth across the continent.
